The Missing Amiga ...
Evelyn Joseph Campbell celebrated July 4th in Littleton, New Hampshirebut she was thinking of the four amigas who were together again in Bintulu,
and wishing she was at the reunion with all the "old" classmates

Abby, Maliha, Edith and Mary Lu spent many hours with Jo chatting into the wee hoursof the morning, remembering childhood adventures and creating new ones

All the old classmates fortunate enough to be at the reunion and dine together amidst memories and laughter: Joairidah Seman, Abidah Biha, Mohd Hazre (Henry Mikui), Mary Lu & daughter Yvonne, Edith Phoa, Malihabi Sait Hamat, Julkip Seno, Busing Jali, wife Naja & daughter Olivia Betty.

There was just not enough time to catch up with 33 years of happenings so the reunion moved to Pizza Hut for a continuation of conversations long overdue. The quiet Julkip of the old days has turned out to be quite the chatterbox

Everytime there is a reunion, I feel that every memory is relived and it transported us back to the old quaint Mukah town that we used to know. I have never even thought that one day we would be reunited or to meet each other again especially with friends like Busing, Henry or some others though at the back of my mind I have been wondering where or how they are doing in life. Now that the opportunity presents itself for meetings and get-togethers, I try to make myself available though at times my personal situation does not allow me to do so.
ReplyDeleteI have been searching all the years for my beautiful friends, Edith, Maliha, Evelyn and Jo and 2009 brought us back together again, if not physically for Evelyn, but we are in touch via email and Facebook.
The gentleman who took the pictures is the one in blue - Hafiz and he will be my bodyguard and photographer at future reunions, if he has the time to do so.
